A Texas Tradition | Houston Photographer

We awoke at the crack of dawn to drive out to the country for a visit with the bluebonnets today. I was so annoyed with the gray clouds that followed us all morning long and worried that I wouldn’t have the right light to work with. This happened to be one of the last shots of the day so you can imagine how thrilled I was as I watched it upload to my computer. Driving out there with a suddenly overly sensitive toddler and her chatterbox cousin made for a really long day, but this one single image made it so worth it. It’s late and I’m tired so this will have to do for now. Thanks for hanging out with us Aunt Yaya!

Post #1: Change is good | Houston Photographer

Welcome to my shiny new blog!

If you’re following me from my old personal blog, you’ll know that I have been fortunate enough to bring an old hobby of mine back to life. I have spent a good chunk of the last 2 years with my face buried in books, in front of the computer, and behind my camera, all in an attempt to do something that my heart has always craved. Just ask my husband how many late nights I’ve put into this and he will gladly attest.

I am so lucky to have family and friends (and even a few internet-strangers-turned-friends!) support and encourage my dream. My new blog is where you will find the daily happenings of my world. As you can see, my blog is still under construction, probably just as much as I find myself to be at times, but nonetheless, I invite you to follow me on this new career as a photographer. A new career that means more than just earning a paycheck.

And my true inspiration to make this change and live my life more free and the way it was meant to be:

Happy Easter!
